VOICE OF SOPHIA

The voice of Sophia, the voice of God’s Wisdom,

insistently calls us to come journey on,

to pack few belongings, to trust in her guidance,

to set out in darkness, to come journey on.

The voice of Sophia calls us out of bondage,

held captive by Pharaoh and fearful of dawn.

She leads us in darkness, through death to deliverance,

then into the wilderness, come journey on.

The voice of Sophia, in cloud and in fire,

inspires our courage and guides us toward dawn,

obscured by resistance.  Then God’s transformation:

light shines in the wilderness, come journey on.

O voice of Sophia be spoken within us.

Enlighten our journey from darkness to dawn.

Enliven the joy that is trembling within us,

deep joy at our calling to come journey on.
